Photosynthesis and respiration questions

Hello class,

You need to be able to answer these questions:

What is photosynthesis?

Photosynthesis is the process by which plants make their own food.

What do they need to make the food?

They need: water, carbon dioxide and sunlight.

What do the roots absorb?

They absorb water and minerals from the soil.

Where does photosynthesis take place?

Photosynthesis takes place in the leaves of plants

How does the carbon dioxide pass through the leaves?

Carbon dioxide passes through small holes called stomata.

How do plants absorb energy from the sun? (difficult)

Inside the cells of the plants there are small structures called chloroplasts. Each chloroplast contains a green chemical called chlorophyll which gives leaves their green colour and absorbs light from the sun.

What do plants release in photosynthesis?

Plans release oxygen when they do photosynthesis.

What is the food for plants?

Glucose is the food for plants. When plants do photosynthesis they produce glucose and oxygen.

What do plants absorb and release during respiration?

During respiration plants absorb oxygen and release carbon dioxide.

When do plants do photosynthesis?

Plants do photosynthesis during daytime because they need the sun´s energy.

When do plants respire?

Plants respire during all day.

Bye bye kids!

Things we did and things to do

Hello everybody,

How are you? This week has been very short! But we have done some things....

We went to the museum on Monday and then on Tuesday we created a poster about plant classification and plant reproduction.

Yesterday we did learning stations and today we have done a grammar worksheet about "was/ were" and continued working on our field notebooks.

WAS/WERE GAME 1

WAS/ WERE GAME 2

For homework we will have to read the minibook. You can listen to some of them here (BOOK LOAN PAGE)

Also, you have to do a writing using verbs in PAST.

Here you are some examples:

WENT,  WATCHED,   STUDIED,   TALKED,   PLAYED,   VISITED,   TRAVELLED,   PRACTISED,  SAW,   READ,   LISTENED, ETC.

Daniela´s presentations :D

Well done Daniela. you have done a great job!!

:) I am so proud of you!

PLANT PRESENTATION

THE POLLINATION PRESENTATION

Field notebook :)

Hello everyone,

We are creating a field notebook with plants we are finding.

This is how the first page looks like.  AMAZING!

Hugo has brought some molecules. You can see them below:

I have THREE questions for you:

What do the roots absorb?

What so the plants release when they do  the photosynthesis?

What do plants release when they breathe?

LEAVE A COMMENT WITH THE ANSWERS! :)

Photosynthesis

Hello everyone,

Yesterday we were singing a song about photosynthesis and predicting about how a plant would be without water or sun.

Here you can listen to the song and see the pictures. :)
